It’s a busy weekend of playdowns for men, women and U18 curling teams in BC.

Playdowns are taking place for men and women hoping to travel to Cranbrook for the 2020 BC Men’s Curling Championship and the 2020 Scotties BC Women’s Curling Championship, presented by Best Western.

The regional playdowns for men are taking place this weekend (Dec. 14&15) in Abbotsford, Kamloops, Lake Cowichan and Kimberley. Three berths are available in all categories except in Kimberley, where, due to proration, two berths are available. All events can be found at http://playdowns.curlbc.ca.

Women are also in action in Abbotsford, with eight teams vying for two berths to the BC Scotties. Visit http://bot.curlbc.ca//web/Comp?compid=3109 for scoring.

The final event taking place this weekend is the U18 boys and girls open playdown taking place in Kamloops. There is one berth available for each gender. Both events can be found at http://playdowns.curlbc.ca.

The 2020 BC Men’s and Women’s Curling Championships are taking place at Cranbrook’s Western Financial Place from Jan. 28-Feb. 2, 2020. Ticket and event information is available at https://www.curlbc.ca/cranbrook-2020/.

The 2020 BC Boys and Girls U18 Curling Championships are taking place at Parksville Curling Club from Mar. 17-22, 2020.
