Curling Day in BC

November 7, 2020

Curling Day in BC is an opportunity for clubs throughout the province to celebrate our sport. The day that has been selected for the inaugural Curling Day in BC is Nov. 7, 2020 to coincide with the 125th anniversary of curling. This will become an annual event taking place on the first Saturday in November.

The Curl BC staff and Board of Governors is encouraging your club to recognize this day by throwing a fun event for your community. This could be an open house, a wine and cheese, a craft beer night, a games night, a one-day bonspiel or something else that is unique to your club. Clubs have the option to celebrate all week or choose a day close to November 7 that works best for the club’s schedule.

All the clubs who participate in the event will have their names put into a draw for $1,000 worth of educational funds.

The funds could go towards:

  • training;
  • workshops;
  • professional development;
  • Business of Curling activities; or
  • something else that will help your club enhance its presence in the community

Clubs that would like to take part should fill out the form: https://curlbc.wufoo.com/forms/xqbxdkp1ix0v8p/. Clubs that sign up before the end of March will have their names entered a second time into the draw to win $1,000 in educational funds.

Clubs are encouraged to make a video, slideshow or gallery about their event and post it on social media and tag @CurlBC (Twitter) and @curlbc (Instagram) and @curlbc.ca (Facebook).

When posting about your event on social media you can join Curl BC in using the hashtags: #CurlingDayInBC2020 #Curling & #CurlBC

In collaboration with you, Curl BC will also actively promote your event in your area via Facebook targeted ads, media releases and more.
