Hit-Draw-Tap comes to BC

Curl BC is excited to announce that the first-ever Hit-Draw-Tap competition is coming to BC.

The event will take place in Cranbrook during the 2020 BC Men’s Curling Championship and 2020 Scotties BC Women’s Curling Championship, presented by Best Western.

The competition will see youth curlers between the ages of 6 and 15 attempting three different shots – a hit, a draw and a tap. They will be scored on the results.

There will be three first-place prizes, three second-place prizes and three third-place prizes in the different age categories.

Curl BC Education and Camps Coordinator Kim Dennis said: “This is a great opportunity for our future curling stars to experience a provincial event. Don’t miss out!”

The competition will take place at Western Financial Place on Saturday, Feb. 1 between the men’s semi final and the women’s semi final (approximately 5pm to 6pm).

Only 30 spots are available so hurry to register!

  • Hit-Draw-Tap entry fee: $25
  • Includes:
    • participant T-shirt & medal
    • prizes for the top three finishers in each age category
  • Registration deadline: Friday, Jan. 10, 2020

The age categories will be based on the age spread of the registered participants.

Hit-Draw-Tap started as a program in Ontario in the 2015-16 season. In 2018-2019, Curling Canada launched Hit-Draw-Tap as a national program with Tim Hortons as a presenting sponsor.
