Final team qualifies for senior provincials

February 06, 2020

The field is complete for the 2020 BC Senior Curling Championships in Vernon.

The final men’s team qualified at open playdowns at Peace Arch Curling Club this past weekend. Former Canadian and world champions Brent Pierce (pictured) and Bryan Miki, from Royal City Curling Club, have joined the roster of senior teams.  Their team is rounded out by third Ken Maskiewich, second Darin Fenton and fifth Ross Graham. Pierce and Miki were both on the BC-based McAulay rink that won the Brier and world championship in 2000. Earlier this year the pair teamed up to co-coach Team Sato, the Junior team that won the 2020 BC Junior Men’s Curling Championship.

The 2020 BC Senior Curling Championships, featuring the top eight 50+ men’s teams and top seven 50+ women’s teams in BC, will go ahead at Vernon Curling Club from Feb. 18-23.

The winning teams will travel to the Everest Canadian Seniors from Mar. 16-22 at the Portage Curling Club in Portage la Prairie, Man.
