CEO’s Message – Thank You for Supporting the Championships!

January 31, 2024

Great to witness the tremendous success of the recently concluded 2024 BC Men’s and Women’s Curling Championships at the Archie Browning Sports Centre in Esquimalt. Heartfelt congratulations to the champions and medalists for their outstanding performances. Good luck to Team Schneider, Team Grandy and Team Brown as they prepare for the Brier and Scotties.

I would like to express our gratitude to the two host clubs, Esquimalt Curling Club and the Victoria Curling Club. The tireless efforts of the Host Committee and volunteers who contributed their time and energy are commendable and played a pivotal role in the success of the event.

Our appreciation extends to the Township of Esquimalt, Greater Victoria Sport Tourism Commission, the BC Government’s Fairs, Festivals and Events Fund, Hosting BC and numerous sponsors and local community partners for their unwavering support.

Before the Men’s and Women’s Championships, we witnessed the excitement of the Open Qualifier, as well as the BC U18 and Mixed Doubles Championships earlier in the season. A special thank you to the Cloverdale Curling Club and the Victoria Curling Club for hosting these events.

As we look ahead to February, the curling season continues with the BC U21 and Stick Championships at the Salmon Arm Curling Club, the BC Masters Championships at Cranbrook Curling Club, and the BC Winter Games at Quesnel Curling Club. It promises to be a busy month, and we are immensely grateful to all our host clubs and their dedicated volunteers.

Thank you to the B.C. curling community, for your passion, commitment and contribution to the sport.

Wishing everyone fantastic curling in February!
