BC Junior Curling Tour kicks off with Anita Cochrane Memorial Junior Cashspiel
The 2021-22 BC Junior Curling Tour officially begins this weekend, September 17 – 19, with The 7th Annual Anita Cochrane Memorial Junior Cashspiel. The event takes place at the Royal City Curling Club in New Westminster, BC, thanks in large part due to the support of the Bassett family.
The cashspiel is named in memory of Anita Cochrane, who was a high-performance athlete coach and ambassador for the sport of curling. She represented BC in the 2009 Canadian Mixed Championship, where she earned the Sportsmanship award.
This year’s event features 20 of the top U21 teams from across BC. To catch the action live, come on down to the Royal City Curling Club this weekend – but be sure to bring the appropriate proof of vaccination and please complete this form: Rental/Guest/Coach-Royal City Curling Club before arriving.
Curl BC is very excited to see such a large number of teams competing in this first week of action on the BCJCT. The mission of this tour is to create awareness about youth curling, fosters sportsmanship and camaraderie, and increase the number of competitive BC youth teams at the U18 and U21 levels.
