Dear curlers,

We acknowledge the financial concerns that you have raised because of new affiliation fees that were introduced this spring and summer.

A number of clubs have contacted Curl BC with concerns about the new $10 U12 affiliation fee and the $10 Special Olympic curler fee. These concerns were brought to the attention of the Curl BC Board and they have agreed to delay the full implementation of these fees until the 2020-21 season.

To make the transition go smoothly, we will be working with clubs to ensure U12 and Special Olympic curlers are recorded, but clubs will not be asked to pay affiliation for them. The numbers from this count will provide both curling centres and Curl BC a calculation of what the costs will be for the following season.

Another further consideration, especially for the Special Olympic curlers, is that the affiliation fee is only due for those curlers who curl three or more times in a season.

Our clubs are vital to the success of curling in BC and we look forward to working with you to grow curling throughout the province.
