The first of five World Curling Tour events to be held in BC this season begins this Thursday. The Vernon Twin Anchors Invitational Men’s & Women’s Cashpiels will host some of the top teams in the country, many of whom are preparing for the upcoming Road to the Roar in Prince George (Nov. 10-15.)

This year the Women’s competition has attracted names such as Shannon Kleibrink and Cheryl Bernard from Alberta, and Kelly Scott and Kelley Law from BC. The Men’s side will include former BC Champions, Sean Geall and Bob Ursel joining the likes of Glenn Howard and Kerry Burtnyk. Competitions begins Thursday and wraps up Monday.

The following week more big curling names will fill the Royal City Curling Club at the Westcoast Curling Classic, Oct. 9-12. This event will kick off with a free admission Skins Game between reigning Brier Champion, Kevin Martin and reigning BC Champion, Sean Geall.

Teams will then travel to The Kamloops Crown of Curling which follows a couple of weeks later at the Kamloops Curling Club, Oct. 23-26.
