Volunteer rock cleaners needed for international wheelchair bonspiel

The Richmond Centre for Disability, host of the 2017 Canadian Open – 11th Annual International Wheelchair Curling Bonspiel is looking for curlers, or non-curlers, to volunteer at the event as Rock Cleaners for our competing athletes.

Twelve teams are competing this year, including international teams from Russia and Switzerland, and Team Canada as well as a number of provincial and regional teams throughout Canada.

Duties
The duties involved cleaning the rocks at each end and line them up for the athletes. There is no pre-requisite but more suitable for people who are able to move and bend freely, and stand for 2 hours on the Ice Rink.

Registration Process

2. Check the Volunteer Schedule and confirm your availability
3. Return to Ian Yeung at RCD: ian@rcdrichmond.org or drop off at RCD Office or fax to 604-232-2415
4. RCD will confirm or negotiate your schedule
5. Attend Volunteer Training session for new volunteers and non-curlers, November 10, 2017, Friday, 5:30 – 7;30 p.m.
