Tickets for Cranbrook go on sale Nov 1

Cranbrook Curling Centre and Curl BC are pleased to announce that tickets are now available for the 2020 BC Men’s and Women’s Curling Championships being staged at Western Financial Place.

The 2020 Scotties BC Women’s Curling Championship, presented by Best Western, will see the top eight women’s teams in BC compete for the title of best in BC and the chance to represent the province at nationals in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

The 2020 BC Men’s Curling Championship will see the top 16 men’s teams in BC compete for the title of best in BC and the chance to represent the province at the Tim Hortons Brier in Kingston, Ontario.

The BC event starts on Tuesday, January 28 and wraps up on Sunday, February 2. Curl BC has set up an information page for the event at www.curlbc.ca/cranbrook-2020/. The page has hotel information, volunteer information and more and will be updated with news and info as the event nears.

Team Cotter, last year’s men’s winners, will return as defending champions. Three of the same four players will be in place, with the sole lineup change being Andrew Nerpin in place of Tyrel Griffith. Eight-time BC Men’s Champion Jim Cotter will skip, with Steve Laycock at third, Nerpin at second and Rick Sawatsky at lead.

On the women’s side, Team Sarah Wark will return as defending champions. The team features Sarah Wark as skip, Kristen Pilote at third, Carley Sandwith at second and Michelle Dunn as lead. They are coached by Jeff Richard.

In addition to great curling the event will feature a Patch-style party area and opportunities for fans to engage with curling sponsors. A 125th anniversary of the sport of curling booth will also be present at the event for photo opportunities.

Tickets will cost $90 for an event pass and will be available at tickets.cranbrook.ca.
