Kay Giles Sportsmanship Award (Women)

This award was established in memory of Kay Giles. Each year at the Scotties BC Women’s Curling Championship, presented by Best Western , the players vote for a fellow competitor who they believe embodies the spirit of the game.

Flora Martin of Victoria is a Provincial and Canadian Champion. She was inducted into the Canadian Curling Hall of Fame in 1979. This award is presented each year at the Junior Women’s Provincials to the curler chosen by her peers to be the most sportsmanlike.

Lottie became involved with curling in 1946 and was President of the BCLCA during the 1971-72 and 1977-78 seasons. Gordon Hill and family have donated a plaque in memory of Lottie Hill to be presented each year at the Senior Women’s Provincial Playdowns.
