New Horizons for Seniors Program funding opportunity

Curling centres – the deadline to submit proposals for the New Horizons for Seniors Program is June 15! This program supports projects designed by and for seniors, and eligible applicants can receive up to $25,000 in the form of a grant under the Community-based Projects Component and up to $5,000 in the form of a grant under the Small grants Initiative Pilot. 

Projects must address one or more of the following New Horizons for Seniors Program objectives:

  • promoting volunteerism among seniors and other generations;
  • engaging seniors in the community through mentoring of others;
  • expanding awareness of elder abuse, including financial abuse;
  • supporting social participation and inclusion of seniors;
  • providing capital assistance for new and existing community projects and/or programs for seniors

For the Small grants Initiative, projects must meet at least one of the following national priorities:

  • Projects that would benefit vulnerable seniors populations;
  • Projects focusing on the diversity of Canada’s seniors; and,
  • Projects that would use volunteerism to increase an organization’s capacity
