Two curling camps designed to prepare young curlers for competition are taking place at Kamloops Curling Club.
Curlers can take part in either a Podium Preparation Camp or a BC Winter Games Preparation Camp, depending on their skill level and experience. Both camps take place on March 24.

The two streams are:
1) Podium Preparation Camp: For youth with 1-2 years of curling experience who are interested in exploring curling competitions but have limited experience with it. Topics to include: Anatomy of a Curling Team; Fitness for curling; Ice technical analysis and improvement; and Introduction to BC curling competitions.
2) BC Winter Games Preparation Camp: For youth with 3-4 years of curling experience who have some competitive experience but not at a multi-sport games (BC Winter Games). Topics will include: Mental preparation; Team Dynamics; Nutrition; Ice Technical analysis; and Competition.
The Podium Preparation Camps and BC Winter Games Preparation Camps are part of a Provincial Long Term Athlete Development Initiative targeting youth athletes, 18 and under. The purpose of the camps is to assist athletes, coaches, and parents at the “Learn to Train” and “Train to Train” stages of the Long Term Athlete Development Model prepare for and compete successfully in their first competition or multi-sport games experience.
