Application deadline for Gordon Hooey Scholarship approaching

The deadline to submit applications for the Gordon Hooey Memorial Scholarship is coming up on January 31, 2019.

The purpose of the Gordon Hooey Memorial Scholarship Fund is to support junior curlers who are interested in becoming coaches and/or who have demonstrated a commitment to becoming top-level curlers and who show leadership in their communities with their post-secondary education.

The scholarship is not given as cash grants, but goes directly to the Canadian institution or organization to which the applicants are applying.

Dawson Ballard was the recipient of the 2018 Gordon Hooey Memorial Scholarship. A 2018 BC U18 champion and 2018 BC Junior silver medalist, Ballard volunteers with the Royal City Curling Club Junior Program and has been accepted into Trinity Western University’s Pre-Medicine program.
