Curling 2.0

The Curling 2.0 program bridges the gap between the well-established school program, Curling Canada Rocks and Rings, and curling centre-based junior programming.

The program aims to bring people onto the ice after they have had their “first touch” with the sport in a gym.

Curling 2.0 will be led by certified club coaches. Participants learn the basics of the sport, play a short game and learn more about junior development opportunities in their community. In a Curling 2.0 session, individuals experience the sport in a short one-hour on-ice session designed to give you a taste of what the sport of curling has to offer. Participants are brand new to the sport, having never tried it on ice before.

The Optimists’ Getting Started in Curling Camps are a parallel program that run at community curling centres in BC. At these camps, youth attend for a full day (approximately 10 AM – 3 PM) and develop their curling skills from a basic introductory level by working with experienced youth curlers and led by certified curling coach, Al Kersey. Participants may be brand new to the sport, or may have played for less than 1 year.
