Canada Winter Games

What are the Canada Winter Games?

The Canada Winter Games are governed by the Canada Games Council and bring together athletes from across the country to represent their province or territory. In curling, each province is represented by a male team and a female team made up of U18 athletes that are in the Train to Compete phase of athlete development.

When are the Canada Winter Games?

The Canada Winter Games take place every four years, with the next one taking place February 15 to March 3, 2019, in Red Deer, Alberta.

How do athletes get involved n competing at the Canada Winter Games?

An open event for both girls and boys is held as qualification to the Canada Winter Games. This event takes place roughly one year before the Canada Winter Games. The qualifier event for the 2019 Games took place March 30 to April 1, 2018. The winners of the qualifier go on to represent BC at the Canada Winter Games. Athletes must be a resident of BC to compete.

Canada Winter Games Preparation Camps

Curl BC offers a Podium Preparation Program for youth curlers and their support team (parent, coach, junior coordinator) as they explore and learn more about competitive curling in BC. This program includes Canada Winter Games Preparation Camps.
