Busy weekend sees teams qualify for 2019 BC Senior and Mixed Doubles Championships

Curling centres across the province were busy this past weekend hosting the 2019 senior and mixed doubles regional playdowns.

Clubs in Creston, Kelowna, Qualicum, Abbotsford, Enderby, Prince George, Victoria and Delta played host to teams looking to qualify for the BC Championships. 100 Mile House also hosted a senior regional earlier this month.

Seven senior women’s teams and six senior men’s teams have qualified for the 2019 BC Senior Curling Championships, which will be taking place February 19 to 24 at Trail Curling Club. Among the teams are 2018 BC Senior Men’s Curling Championship gold medalists Team Lepine.

The teams that have qualified so far for the 2019 BC Senior Curling Championships are as follows:

The final two senior men’s berths and the final senior women’s berth will be determined at the open playdown taking place February 1 to 3 at Peace Arch Curling Club.

Fourteen of the 16 mixed doubles teams that will be competing in the 2019 BC Mixed Doubles Curling Championship at Abbotsford Curling Club from February 26 to March 3 have also been determined, and include reigning champions Megan Daniels and Nicholas Meister.
