Regional playdowns for the 2019 Connect Hearing BC Masters Curling Championships took place last weekend in Trail, Mission, Cowichan and Ashcroft.

The reigning BC Champions, Langley, Cloverdale, Royal City and Penticton’s Team Lepine (Craig Lepine, Neil Houston, Craig McLeod, Kevin Jeannotte) qualified for the opportunity to defend their title after winning the Lower Mainland playdown C event.

The Lower Mainland A event was won by Richmond and Chilliwack’s Team Shimizu (Vic Shimizu, Russ Knutson, Wayne Hogaboam, Ben Nishi) and the B event was won by Tunnel Town, Delta Thistle, Vancouver and Marpole’s Team Rafter (Bill Rafter, Mike Weir, John Smiley, Allan Rampton).

Nelson, Vernon, Trail and Beaver Valley’s Team Smith (Doug Smith, Brian LeMoel, Garry Beaudry, Bill King) qualified for the 2019 provincial by winning the Kootenay playdown. The Island playdown was won by Kerry Park’s Team Craig (Wes Craig, Ron Schmidt, Tony Anslow, Victor Gamble).
