Board nominates two individuals for re-election

The Curl BC Board has nominated two individuals for re-election in 2017.

Board Chair Paul Addison and Governor at Large Michelle Ramsay, who are both sitting board members, have been nominated.

Every year at the Curl BC Annual General Meeting (AGM), Governor(s) at Large are elected.

At our 2017 AGM, scheduled for June 4 in Kelowna, the Curl BC membership will elect two Governors to join with those elected from the Regions to sit on the 10-person Board. This year the Governors at Large will be elected for two-year terms.

The board is still interested in hearing from more candidates. Those looking to run for the board position should be individuals who are willing to help Curl BC dedicate itself to the development, promotion and organization of curling in British Columbia.

Information about Paul and Michelle has been emailed out to member curling centres, and both candidates will be asked to say a few words about themselves ahead of the election.

Anyone who wants to run for a Governor at Large position who has not already put their name forward to the board must be supported by three curling centres.

An overview of Curl BC and the role of the Board and its Governors is available here: Curl BC Governance Manual.

If you are interested in pursuing this volunteer opportunity and require further information, please contact Terry Vandale, Past Chair at tvandale@telus.net.

The deadline for submission of your candidacy is May 5, 2017, if you have the support of three curling centres.
