Playdown registration now open

Registration is now open for 2010/2011 Curl BC playdowns. Please note that the Curl BC playdown registration fees remain the same as previous years, however, an increase in the total amount has resulted due to the newly implemented HST and the increased CCA competitor’s fee from $25 -$30. The new CCA competitor’s fee is a one time fee (per season) and will not have to be repaid when entering multiple playdown categories (ex. women’s & mixed).

New playdown formats finalized

The formats for the new men’s and women’s playdowns leading to the provincial championships have now been finalized.

In the event that there are 12 or fewer teams, the draw will be a triple-knockout with a playoff. If there are more than 12 teams, the draw will likely be a double knockout, however, if possible (given number of sheets of ice, time, etc.) a triple knockout with a playoff will be played.

Teams will be seeded in all events. Once an event registration has closed, teams will be emailed with a list of entrants and asked to rank the top half. The placement of the remaining unseeded teams will be based on a random draw. [Read more…]
