High performance registration calendar

The first curling camp of the summer has been added to the High Performance registration calendar. View it here. Remember to check back throughout the coming months as more camps and workshops are added.

Gaming grant applications due May 31st

Clubs are reminded that Gaming grant applications are due May 31st. Clubs are encouraged to focus on youth and disabled projects for a greater chance of receiving funding.

Clubs that require assistance may contact Scott Braley at sbraley@curlbc.ca or 604-333-3621.

2010 Curl BC award recipients

Men with Brooms sitcom coming to CBC

A sitcom based on the curling movie Men With Brooms is coming to Canadian TV screens. CBC-TV has bought a season of the comedy, about a group of guys in a small-town curling club.

Executive producer Paul Mather has revealed the comedy picks up the story several years after the events of the 2002 movie, which starred Paul Gross. Gross is to make a cameo in the first episode, he said. [Read more…]

Cloverdale to host 2011 Scotties BC Women’s Curling Championship

Curl BC is pleased to announce that the 2011 Scotties Tournament of Hearts BC Women’s Curling Championship presented by Best Western has been awarded to the Cloverdale Curling Club. This event will run from January 17 – 23, 2011 with the semi-final and final games broadcast on Shaw TV. [Read more…]

Curl BC volunteer positions available

Curl BC is currently accepting applications for volunteer positions for the 2010/11 season. The positions available are:

Provincial Ice Technician
Curl BC Master Learning Facilitator
Provincial Head Statistician
Provincial Officiating Coordinator

New Kenzen (Sato Canada) website

Kenzen (Sato Canada) has created a new website. Click here to check it out and read the article on Curl BC’s Kenzen Long Shot Contest held this past fall.

In addition to sponsoring the Kenzen Long Shot Contest, Kenzen (Sato Canada) provided free product to every Curl BC playdown participant in the 2009/2010 season. Most recently, they provided the second place prize in Curl BC’s Duncanby Lodge Raffle.
