2010 BC Junior Men’s & Women’s Curling Championships begin today

The BC Junior Championships begin today at the Juan de Fuca Curling Club. Eight boys teams and eight girls teams will compete for the right to represent BC at the National Championships in Sorel Tracey, Quebec, January 16-24th.

The format for each event is a round robin with a three-team playoff ending on December 31st.

Ed Dezura home and healthy

Golden Ears Winter Club’s Ed Dezura (1999 BC & Canadian Senior Men’s Champion) is home safe and sound after having quadruple bypass surgery earlier this month. Fortunately his heart issue was recognized in testing and did not result in a heart attack.

Ed is now recovering at home and would like to everyone for their thoughts and support.

Field set for 2010 Scotties BC Curling Championship presented by Best Western

Richmond, BC (December 22, 2009) – The field is now set for the 2010 Scotties BC Curling Championship presented by Best Western hosted at the Penticton Curling Club from January 4-10, 2010.

The Nicole Backe (Nanaimo), Lori Olsen (McArthur Island) and Karla Thompson (Kamloops) teams were the final three teams to earn berths into the 2010 provincials this past weekend. These three teams will be joined by Jerry-Pat Armstrong (Cranbrook), Kristen Fewster (Prince George), Kelley Law (Royal City), Kristy Lewis (Richmond), Marla Mallet (Royal City), Kelly Scott (Kelowna) and Adina Tasaka (Royal City) in the 10 team event. 2010 BC Men’s & Women’s Curling Championships to be broadcast on Shaw TV

Richmond, BC (Decemeber 8, 2009) – British Columbia’s top high performance curlers will be broadcast on Shaw TV in the 2009/2010 curling season. Both the semi-final and final games of the 2010 Canadian Direct Insurance BC Men’s Curling Championship presented by Kal-Tire and the 2010 Scotties BC Women’s Curling Championship presented by Best Western will be televised.
