BC Team Competing at World Seniors in New Zealand

The Sanders Team from Juan de Fuca won last year’s Senior Women’s National title and the opportunity to compete at the 2009 Senior World Curling Championships. The Senior Worlds are taking place April 25th – My 2nd, 2009 in New Zealand.

Royal City to host World Police & Fire Games

Royal City Curling Club in New Westminster will be hosting the 2009 World Police and Fire Games August 4th – 7th, 2009. Come out and support the event.

As a result of the Games, the ice at Royal City will be going in early and they will be holding mini-leagues, clinics and bonspiels in August. For curlers this is a great way to get a head start on your season and for non-curlers this is your chance to try out the sport.

Now Accepting Applications for the High Performance Program

Curl BC is now accepting applications for all those teams and individuals who wish to be part of the Curl BC High Performance Program for the 2009-2010 season.  The deadline for applications is May 1st, 2009.  If you do not have your team set by this date, please apply to the program as an individual, and your team can be added at a later date.  The amount of assistance and resources available is directly related to the ranking of the athlete/team on the Curl BC Ranking List.

Montgomery wins Mixed Provincials

Congratulations to Team Montgomery from Duncan for winning the 2009 Mixed Provincials in Kimberley this part weekend. They defeated Team Perepolkin 4-3 in the final.

Team Montgomery will be representing BC at the Mixed Nationals November 15-22, 2009 in Burlington, Ontario.
