The Sandra Schmirler Foundation is Curl BC’s Charity of Choice.
The mission of the Sandra Schmirler Foundation (SSF) is “caring for babies in crisis” through direct giving to neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) facilities across Canada. Since its inception in 1991, the Foundation has donated over $1,000,000 to support these babies that have the same will to live that fueled Sandra’s battle with cancer. To date, the Foundation has given over $79,000 to hospitals within BC.
What can you do?
1. Designate the Sandra Schmirler Foundation as your Charity of Choice.
2. Link your website to the Sandra Schmirler Foundation website www.sandraschmirler.org
3. Participate in the Telethon Curling Club Challenge
The SSF holds its annual telethon during the beginning of each National Scotties Tournament of Hearts. Clubs are encouraged to hold fundraisers throughout the year and remit their proceeds during the Telethon. Clubs can contact the Foundation by email email@example.com to obtain more information. Individuals are also encouraged to donate during the Telethon.
The Sandra Schmirler Foundation’s theme “Champions Start Small” reflects the determination and fight for life that we see every day in seriously ill babies…the same fight that Sandra showers in her courageous battle. We request your help in supporting these initiatives in support of Sandra Schmirler’s legacy and the objective of being a national charity with outreach to all communities in Canada.
If you have any questions, you can contact the Sandra Schmirler Foundation directly at firstname.lastname@example.org or 1-800-210-6011.
