Curling for Life Endowment Fund

“Curling, to me, is different from other sports. There is fierce competition on the ice, but off the ice you are a part of a world-wide family that you will be a part of forever. And for every game you play, the family gets bigger and bigger.” – Olympian Melissa Soligo

Curling is so much more than just a sport. For many, curling is about family – it’s about coming together, connecting with others and being part of something special. Curling provides a family atmosphere that is cherished right across British Columbia.

Curl BC EF Logo VerticalAt Curl BC, we want every community to experience the tremendous benefits of curling. That’s why, in 2010, with the help of an enthusiastic group of curlers, Curl BC started the Curling For Life Endowment Fund. The fund is dedicated to making sure that the sport remains vibrant now and into the future.

The sport of curling is facing some of its greatest challenges highlighting the increasing importance of the Curling for Life Endowment Fund. The reality is, the number of people taking up curling is no longer growing at a sustainable pace.

Without funds to invest in BC’s curling programs and facilities, there is a risk that the sport may fade from some BC communities. This is why the Curling For Life Endowment Fund was set up – to keep curling alive in perpetuity.

The good news is that thanks to donations from many individuals, the Endowment Fund has more than doubled in value since it was set up.

Our capital, which started at $10,000, has grown to $20,480 and has already generated $2,005 to help curling centres throughout the province. With your financial support, we know the fund can continue to grow and double in size again.
