Suzanne Bertrand loses battle to cancer
Whitehorse’s Suzanne Bertrand lost her battle with cancer this past Monday.
Suzanne was a long time volunteer with the Whitehorse Curling Club and the Yukon Curling Association. She was the receipient of the 2005 CCA Volunteer of the Year Award and served as Yukon’s Technical Coordinator and Master Learning Facilitator for 15 years.
Many BC curlers had the oppotunity to meet Suzanne over the years at coaching courses and competitions. Her outgoing and caring personality was present at all times. Curl BC would like to send its wishes to the family and friends of Suzanne.
Curl BC shares the words and thoughts of Yukon’s current Master Course Conductor, Gord Moffatt, “She was a wonderful friend, a true ambassador to the sport of curling and she touched so many people in a profound way. She will be deeply missed.”
